The Interior Design programme trains students on applying technical designing principles and techniques through designing and furnishing residential and commercial interior spaces.
The Interior Design programme offers theoretical and practical courses on computer applications, technical drawings, interior lighting, acoustics, colors coordination and furniture and furnishings, history of interior design, interior spaces and design basics.
VisionThe Interior Design programme aims at developing schemes and designs of interior spaces for residential and public buildings in accordance with technical and architectural criteria.

The Department of Applied Arts’ aspires to produce competent graduates in the field of interior design for successful careers in an evolving global marketplace by training them to achieve the following goals:
- Harmonizing aesthetic, functional and expressive requirements that reflect the community’s culture, civilization and inclinations
- Dealing with interior spaces to find an effective setting (environment) suitable for interior space
- Employing the interior design elements which include color, furniture, light, shape, space and raw and construction materials to please the audience

The career potential of an Interior Designer includes: the design of furniture systems; interior home decorating; interior public spaces dedicated to social, cultural, education, care and hospitality centers; urban furnishings, preparing fairs and temporary events; exhibit design. The Interior Designer can also propose to work as a general designer, CAD designer of interiors, or as a technician in the physical and virtual modeling of spaces.
