As part of “Culture, Art and Social Engagement” project (CASE) which was launched in 2016 and co-funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Faculty of Fine Arts' Department of Plastic Arts at An-Najah National University, organized “Self-Portrait” exhibition in cooperation with A.M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) on Monday, November 29, 2021.


As part of “Culture, Art and Social Engagement” project (CASE) which was launched in 2016 and co-funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Faculty of Fine Arts' Department of Plastic Arts at An-Najah National University, organized “Self-Portrait” exhibition in cooperation with A.M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) on Monday, November 29, 2021.


The exhibition was an opportunity to display creative artwork created by Five students from the University; namely, Hassan Soqoqa, Maryam Jabareen, Rima Amous, Afnan Aqqad, and Izis Mahajneh.

Through such art exhibitions, the University provides a forum to showcase emerging and established student artistic talent through exhibit openings that foster meaningful dialogue among student artists, educators and the wider arts community.


It was attended by Ms. Fida Touma, Director General of AMQF, Ms. Raghida Andwan, Director of CASE project, Mr. Abdul Karim Hussein and Ms. Maha Ghoshi, Project Coordinators. It also included the participation of Dr. Abdulsalam Khayyat, Vice President for Academic affairs, Mr. Mohammad Daqqa, Dean of Students' Affairs, and a number of An-Najah's vice presidents and assistants, faculty deans, and heads of departments as well as other notable guests and interested students.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Rawa Abu Lawi, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts. She welcomed the attendees and fully praised the fruitful results the students shared in the exhibition. Dr. Abu Lawi expressed her happiness with ‎the strong local and international participation in the exhibition.

Furthermore, she talked about CASE project which aims to promote social responsibility and participation through arts and culture, and intends to highlight the role of arts and culture as an effective tool for promoting social engagement, strengthening social cohesion and cultural identity, thus promoting freedom of expression and social accountability.
