The Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University participated in the
inauguration ceremony of the official headquarters of the Moroccan Studies
Chair at Al-Quds University, held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. The
participation included Dr. Hani Al-Faran and Dr. Mirvat Ayash, within an
 
academic and official event hosted at the main campus of Al-Quds
University.

This participation was accompanied by scholarly contributions, as the
attendees presented research papers addressing the architectural,
decorative, and cultural dimensions of the Moroccan presence in
Jerusalem. Dr. Mirvat Ayash presented a study titled:
"Spiritual and Architectural Symbolism of Moroccan Endowments in the City
of Jerusalem: An Analytical Decorative Architectural Study"
The study explored the symbolic and aesthetic dimensions of Moroccan
endowments, viewing them as an active element in shaping the visual and
spiritual memory of the city.
Dr. Hani Al-Faran also presented a research paper titled:
"The Role of Moroccan Architecture and Ornamentation in Consolidating
the Visual Identity of Jerusalem through Artificial Intelligence Applications"
His study focused on employing digital technologies and artificial
intelligence to analyze Moroccan architecture and ornamentation,
highlighting their role in enhancing the visual identity of the holy city.
This participation comes within the framework of strengthening academic
cooperation between Palestinian universities and supporting research
initiatives and knowledge projects concerned with studying the historical,
cultural, and civilizational aspects of the Moroccan–Palestinian relationship,
particularly regarding the Moroccan presence in Jerusalem.
The Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University reaffirms its
ongoing commitment to engaging in national and international scientific and
cultural events, actively contributing to academic projects that promote
scientific research, preserve historical and cultural memory, and support the
Palestinian presence in the Arab and international academic arena.
