As part of the Fashion Design (5) course and upon the invitation of the course instructor, Ms. Maha Shaheen, the Fashion Design Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts – An-Najah National University organized two specialized workshops on embroidery digitization, delivered by Jordanian trainer Tasneem Al-Wael via Zoom, with the participation of the program’s students.


The workshops covered a range of key topics, including:

  • Introduction to the symbols and stitches of Palestinian embroidery, with an overview of major traditional stitches and their regional origins.
  • The importance of embroidery digitization and its role in developing the embroidery profession and facilitating designers’ and students’ work.
  • An overview of leading software used for embroidery digitization, including methods for importing and accurately processing embroidery patterns.
  • Techniques for developing and combining embroidery designs and producing high-quality professional patterns.
  • Expanded applications of embroidery digitization across various creative and design fields beyond fashion.
  • A detailed explanation of the tools of a professional embroidery software, in addition to hands-on training through which students completed several practical exercises.

At the conclusion of the workshops, Dr. Rowa’ Sawalha, Coordinator of the Fashion Design Program, expressed her appreciation to trainer Tasneem Al-Wael for her valuable efforts, emphasizing the importance of integrating digitization and technology into education, and wishing the students continuاحفظed success and excellence.
