
The American newspaper The New York Times has published a selection of artworks by Palestinian artist Raghda Abu Zaitoun, an instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts – An-Najah National University, as part of a report examining the role of art in documenting human experiences amid ongoing events.
The report features three of Abu Zaitoun’s artworks: Forgotten Souls, executed in acrylic on canvas; The Waiting Mother, executed in acrylic on canvas; and Dim Light, executed in ink and acrylic on Canson paper (2024). Through these works, the artist presents a visual approach that emphasizes the human dimension and reflects on the impact of current events on individuals and communities, drawing inspiration from real-life experiences.
