In line with its firm commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering creativity and innovation, the Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah National University announces a distinguished achievement, represented by its student team winning first place in the “Hebron University Design Challenge” in its second edition, which was held in the city of Hebron on April 28, 2026, with the participation of 19 teams from various Palestinian universities
This achievement comes as a result of the integration of both theoretical and practical efforts, where students Sama Malhiss and Tala Qandilo presented an advan packaging design project that reflected a high level of design awareness and a systematic ability to merge aesthetic and functional dimensions, in line with the requirements and professional standards of the modern industry
The project was developed under the supervision of Prof. Sawsan Qanair, who emphasized that this distinction reflects the quality of educational outcomes at An-Najah National University and demonstrates students’ competence in engaging with specialized professional environments through a systematic integration of design imagination and the practical realities of the industrial sector
The Faculty administration affirms that this achievement reflects the effectiveness of its educational approach, which is based on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, thereby contributing to preparing student competencies capable of competition, creativity, and contributing to the development of both the industrial and creative sectors at local and international levels
The Faculty also commends the pioneering role played by the “Hebron University Design Challenge” in strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and the industrial sector, and in providing stimulating practical environments that help refine students’ skills and direct their energies toward innovation and applied knowledge production
The Faculty extends its sincere congratulations to the winning students and all those who contributed to this achievement, reaffirming its continued support for qualitative initiatives that enhance the quality of the educational process and strengthen its presence in academic and professional forums
