A group of students of the art history course at the Faculty of Fine Arts - An-Najah National University paid a visit to the Russian Museum in Jericho on Saturday, 10/03/2018. The group accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Abu Alrob. The museum is dedicated to display the artifacts discovered during excavations by the Russian Archaeological Mission.

The museum includes metal, pottery pieces and mosaics which all are believed to trace back to the end of the Byzantine era and the beginning of the Umayyad arts. Byzantine works displayed in the museum were discussed, and compared with Umayyad artifacts particularly the mosaic floor in the palace of Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik. Further, the classical architectural style of the museum was also discussed.
